Spitting in public is unpleasant, unacceptable and antisocial

"If there is one profound caring Nature which we must spit, let it be ego."
Quite surprisingly, the image is from Leicester!

Imagine yourself or your father toiling in the sun to keep the surrounding around your house clean, when an outsider having no civic sense and in their carelessness of long-term habit of spitting paints the garden floor reddish-orange. Why this colour? In India people have a habit of chewing pan and guthka. A majority of them will spit at just about any place in their convenience, without an ounce of guilt for the harm they do to other's hygiene and the disease they may spread because the remains of the spit linger for years at times.

There used to be moments when walking up the stairs of many an office buildings, shopping centres and public conveniences, the feeling of "we've actually lost it" would sink in and dampen your spirit to even muster a courage to say something for society's well being. Why you ask? The very next day the same people, mostly your relatives, assured to bother you by spitting right next to your walking space, be it anywhere. The reason for doing so was nothing but a vengeful act of requesting them to not do so in the first place. They literally want you to clean the mess they have created for you, themselves and also for others. It gets worse when you think over the fact they are among the educated and some are even landlords with children working in reputed companies on our globe. And right when you think these children could act as a change-maker, they would not budge an inch to say or even hear anything against their parents who could correct themselves for good, right? NO! It hurts their ego. Their pride is shaken! And then, they will take every possible step to challenge the cause by literally assuring to choose a particular task to get it done through you. That, which you may not be instantly aware of doing in an otherwise simple manner, and then demeaning you about your incapacity to change anything.

The entire motive to mention the above facts was to make aware that spitting is JUST NOT GOOD! How long does it take for someone to accept and adapt to change is a matter of importance. The sooner the better. For Everyone!

There are health risks too associated with spitting. TB, hepatitis, Viral Meningitis, Cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr Virus are some of the disease and virus that can be spread through spit.

One should get immediate medical advice if there is a risk of infection.

Spitting can cause damage to environment through pollution in water by contaminating it further. Though, the topic remains debatable, but a hygienic society is all we are progressing towards. An effort made by people of a community to take care of their surroundings should be respected by outsiders. No spitting unnecessarily is a good habit, and can foster social well-being, hygiene and good environmental health. How environmental health? It is because each and every small step towards health and hygiene is directly or indirectly related to our environment. The more cleaner environment and surroundings we see in our everyday space, the more we are likely to adapt to conscious living standards by all means. Spitting also damage properties in the long run if not cleaned otherwise. Whether on pavement or in a garden, spitting is never good. At times it could be not possible to control the stimulus to spit, but majority of time it's always avoidable.

Let's keep our environment as groomed as ourselves.
